It's the New Year Again

Time for those pesky little resolutions that always come up around this time of year. There's the standard - eat healthier, make lifestyle changes, diet - whatever you want to call it. But this year I also have a resolution that I've never had before. I will organize my life. It sounds simple enough. I'm not sure why I never thought of making it one of my resolutions in previous years.

Yes, by this time next year, my whole house will be completely organized and everything will have its place. Okay, that may be expecting a little much, but I do have a plan of action on how I will solve my clutter problem. I already have closet storage and front door entrace organizations ideas dancing in my head. Target and IKEA, here I come!

Although resolutions hang over my head at the beginning of each new year, I do like the idea of a fresh start. Whatever mistakes I may have made last year are classified as learning experiences and I can start new this year. Whatever bad things happened last year are in the past and new beginnings will be in place for 2008. All the good things that happened are imprinted in memories and pictures and tucked away in scrapbooks for my grandchildren to see one day.

I'm looking forward to making more memories in 2008. I hope everyone has a great year!

Ooo I love organization! Have you ever shopped at The Container Store!? Oh its glorious! :)

I have not shopped there, but I've heard it's great. I'll have to look up their locations and make a trip to one. I have a feeling I could spend way too much money there!

There's one near me! You, Karen and Lindsey need to come up one day and visit it with me!

And I added organization to my resolution list. I read "Organizing for Life" and it was very helpful for an organizationally-challenged person like myself. Only I forgot what it said when I finished reading it. Maybe I should just keep reading it and re-reading it to keep me motivated.

I have some short-term organizational goals. I am waiting for the "nesting" syndrome to kick in. Uhoh, what if it never comes?

I also love Container Store. A little pricey on some things, but their concepts are rarely found elsewhere. I would love for one to come to our city... and a Garden Ridge would be nice, too! How do we advocate for this?

@Lydia: That would be fun! I wonder if we'd be able to make it before Ian makes his debut.

@Karen: You're a natural nester. Your instincts kicked-in when you got married. :)

Hm...I'm not sure, but we could try. And I forgot to add Brandy in the group! Just bring everybody!

I'm not supposed to travel far from home after 35 weeks. And that starts January 20. Hmmmm...

But I may also want to shop for some nursery organizational needs...
