Back on the Bandwagon, Baby

Sometimes you just have to keep trying to get something right. I’m going back to Weight Watchers again. This is my third time to join in two years. While I’ve gained a little back from my initial 35 pound weight-loss, I’ve never returned to my original weight total.

Today, as you’ll notice on my Weight Tracker to the right, I weighed in at 1.8 pounds lighter than last week! It’s a small feat, but those numbers are what keep me going.

My weight loss partner in crime, also known as the Workout Nazi, did a good job this week too. It always helps to have the support of a friend when one is trying to make life changes. Thanks friends!

Good luck in your venture!

And I keep thinking this says "Back on the Baby Bandwagon" which really throws me off. :)

who is your nazi?

I read somewhere (I think it was an old post of Karen's) about how you have to constantly renew your goals on a yearly, monthly, semi-monthly, weekly, and daily basis, and even if you haven't been moving in the direction you intended back at your weekly renewal assesment, that there is no day like TODAY to get back to it and start again. (paraphrase, obviously)

But I think it is important to view healthy lifestyle changes like a bank account; every time you choose good food, eat a smaller portion, get a good work out, or even take a brief walk around the block, you are depositing inyour "healthy life account" and everytime you eat a Krispy Kreme, skip your gym day, or opt for fudge ripple rather than lime sherbet (or what-have-you), you are making withdrawals. And just like in finances there are times when you need to save up for something important so you have to make MANY more deposits than withdrawals (AKA, I need to lose weight, build stength, quit smoking, cut out sugar, etc.) so there are also times when you can be a bit more lenient with your "spending habits" and treat yourself to an occasional "spree." Make sense? The trick is still to make more deposits than withdrawals so that you are building a better you over time, rather than gaining the national average of 2-4 lbs per year. GAK!

Here's to LOSING it all and GAINING so much more in return! lol I'm proud of you, wagon girl! And I am up there with you!

I think I'll blog on that very thing...

Thanks for the encouragement Eliza. :) Your explanation may be why I like Weight Watchers. I have to track my food intake and exercise just like a check register. Each food counts as a withdrawal and exercise counts as a deposit. However, I still choose what I want to eat and don't want to eat.

You should post again before you go on vacation so we don't have to keep looking at the creepy little man picture.

ooh, yes...new post!

It IS a creepy little man picture. I don't even like looking at it anymore. I'll try to think of something before I leave.

If anything, type a farewell message with a beach scene so we can all say, "ahhhh."

Actually... that might make us jealous! :-)
